One of the principal roads in the village, Locks Road runs through Locks Heath connecting the central area to the surrounding residential streets and providing access to the Shopping Village. The road carries a steady flow of traffic and has a mix of residential properties and some commercial frontage. Locks Road is one of the older routes in the area, predating the large-scale suburban development, and its alignment reflects the historical road pattern rather than the estate road layouts of the 1970s. The junction with Centre Way and Warsash Road is one of the busiest intersections in the village.
