Brook Lane has a slightly winding alignment that reflects its origins as a rural track predating the suburban development. The housing is a mix of older properties and 1970s and 1980s estate homes. The brook that gives the lane its name still flows through the area, culverted in sections. Footpath connections from Brook Lane provide walking routes to the Shopping Village, schools and surrounding neighbourhoods. Traffic is moderate and traffic calming measures manage speeds.
