Warsash Edge
Southern fringe merging into Warsash with coastal access and a maritime influence
The southern part of Locks Heath merges gradually into Warsash, and the streets in this transition zone share characteristics of both communities. The housing is similar to the rest of Locks Heath, with 1970s and 1980s family homes on estate roads, but the proximity to Warsash waterfront and the River Hamble gives the area a slightly different feel. Residents here are within walking distance of the shore, the coastal paths and the Warsash ferry, which crosses the Hamble to Hamble-le-Rice. Hook-with-Warsash Church of England Primary School serves families in this part of the area. The Warsash Road corridor connects the two communities, with some commercial premises and a pub along its length. The area benefits from both the suburban convenience of Locks Heath and the maritime character of Warsash.
