Brook Lane
Quiet western residential area with footpath connections and a leafy suburban character
The Brook Lane area covers the western residential streets of Locks Heath, where a network of estate roads, cul-de-sacs and footpaths creates a quiet, family-friendly neighbourhood. Brook Lane itself is one of the older routes through the area, retaining a slightly winding alignment that hints at its origins as a rural track. The housing is a mix of 1970s and 1980s semi-detached and detached houses, with some older properties adding variety to the streetscape. Green spaces and retained hedgerows along the footpath routes provide a leafy character that softens the suburban environment. The area is well connected by paths to the Shopping Village, the schools and the wider footpath network, and the brook that gives the lane its name still flows through the neighbourhood, culverted in sections but visible at various points.
